Proofreading vs copyediting:

Proofreading:

If you want proofreading, I will correct errors such as typos, inconsistent language use, incorrect punctuation, etc.

Copyediting:

If you want copyediting, I will not correct anything, but will suggest changes. A sentence can be grammarly correct, but can sound strange while read, or for example, be confusing for a reader who is not the author. It can therefore benefit from copyediting.

NB! Students get -30% off on proofreading services!

Have you read your text so many times that you’re blind to the remaining errors and need someone to weed out what you’ve overlooked, maybe you need something translated or general help with your text; I can help you with that.

Service examples:

Translation

Translating a text from norwegian to english or english to norwegian isn’t just about translating every individual word. Different languages have different ways of constructing sentences and conveying meaning. The type of text also has an effect on the type of language used.

Price depends on both the length and what type of document that you want translated. Example:

Proofreading/Copyediting

When you proofread a text, you look at grammar, typos, paragraph composition and flow. How carefully the text is «corrected» depends on you, but also what type of text it is. An essay or article is more academic and less casualcompared to a novel or short story.

Price/Rate calculation

How much an assignment will cost depends on what you want me to do. The more demanding and the longer it takes to complete the task is will increase the price.

One of the tools i use to calculate price is the Norwegian Journalists’ Association’s indicative freelance rates. I also research task-specific markets to be able to come up with the best price proposal according to my abilities.
